Great reboot of the series since the ones with “versus” sucked! While the first ever Predator movie in 1987 with Ah-nold was full of male testosterone, this one was a bit more insane and a melting pot of sorts since the worlds biggest hitters (spetznaz, special forces, death squads, mercenaries, yakuza, fbi’s most wanted etc.) are pitted against the SUPER predators. Yep you got that right there are two kinds of predators in this movie. I’ll stop there before I get carried away and spoil the movie for ya.

Oscar winner Adrian Brody, known for his performance in the pianist, smooching Halle Berry before getting his award and the most obvious nose is the protagonist in this movie. Even though he hit the gym and put on some serious muscle it fails to match the “guns” of Ah-nold in 1987.

Alice Braga injects a bit of estrogen with her on screen presence while Topher Grace provides some comic relief. Various villains from other movies round up the cast notably that big russian whose name I do not know and my favorite mexican Danny Trejo. Lawrence Fishburne made a cameo here and you can’t help but notice he put on a lot of fat since playing Morpheus in the Matrix.

Things I missed here is Ah-nold’s accent, the mini nuke, predator first-aid and the tagline, “get to the choppaaaah!”

Predators is a decent thriller thanks to the eye candy and musical score. Its a refreshing update to the original with new weapons (AA-12 shotgun) and faces. In my opinion every Predator movie should have a mini gun. It was fun while it lasted.
