Angelina Jolie is a certified action star.

Salt was really written for a male lead. If I remember correctly, someone by the name of Tom Cruise was chosen for this role. When he turned it down, maybe for ehem Knight and Day, this gave the producers the go ahead to get Ms. Jolie. Lo and behold the screenplay was rewritten for a female lead.

Boy, she kicked ass in this movie. Maybe number 1 on the list of bad-ass babes right now. Much to the chagrin of her male co-stars Liev Schreiber (Sabertooth from Wolverine) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (that scientist from 2012)  who were underused throughout the movie because all action stunts revolved around Salt. All in all she gave a great performance but the plot left much to be desired. Halfway through the movie I already predicted how it would end, minutes later I was proven right. Yes I’ve watched a lot of action movies so I don’t count as an average movie goer but the double agent story is chaffed through the core (I didn’t spoil that one it was in the trailer). Die hard Angelina fans like my mom and sis undoubtedly enjoyed this but me after the ending credits rolled I still wanted to watch Inception.
